Wrinkles can be treated in a variety of ways. Commonly an implant material such as collagen is injected into the fine lines and wrinkles of the face to fill in these defects. This is done with a fine needle as an office procedure and takes only a few minutes. Several varieties of product are available. This form of treatment is not permanent but may be repeated in order to maintain the improvement. Usually the redness and effects of the needle injection subside within a few hours. Botox is used to restrict the effects of muscle contracture in the production of facial lines and wrinkles. This is an office procedure that is quick and relatively painless. The effects are not permanent but can be repeated as required.
